Mystery game

FITCHBURG A Fitchburg man apparently shot himself in the backyard of his home after his 74-year-old mother died inside the house.

According to Worcester District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr.'s office, Delores Gurden, 74, was found inside her home at 228 Pratt Road, and her son, Stephen Gurden, 56, was found outside the home, dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The DA's office said there were no signs of foul play. Police went to the home to check on the well-being of the Gurdens about 5:30 p.m. Monday and found the bodies.

It's like a mystery game. Only it's not a game but an actual news story.  Without looking at the solution try to guess the cause of woman's death and what's more interesting the reason for her son's alleged suicide.
